Hi man, folliculitis goes away without medical treatment within two to three days. During that time, self-care measures, such as warm compresses and anti-itch creams, can help relieve your symptoms.Persistent or recurring cases are likely to require treatment. The therapy your doctor recommends will depend on the type and severity of your infection. why don't you consult a dermatologist if the treatment is not working?
General & Family Physician Dr. Gautam Das's  Response
Hi. Folliculitis on the scalp is not very common. Please consult a dermatologist to confirm if it is really folliculitis. If it is persisting then you might need to get few investigations done and also consider your medications history as some drugs too cause a similiar reaction. Bacterial folliculitis may be treated with antibacterial skin washes and topical and/or oral antibiotics. It is important to keep in mind that as with any condition, no therapy is uniformly effective in all people. Your doctor may need to help evaluate the cause of your folliculitis

Dear Sakshi, Welcome to HealthcareMagic!
If you are suffering from recurrent follicullitis in scalp, this may be due to folliculitis decalvans or rarely dissecting folliculitis. These are rare diseases in India & can cause loss of hair as well. Please consult a dermatologist for timely diagnosis & management.
