What Should I Do About Allergic Bumps All Over The Body That Slowly Subsided Only After Taking Benadryl?

I broke out on my whole body with very distinctive SQUARES each had a tiny dot in the center. Arms, Legs, then on to Face, Neck, Hairline then started on trunk. What could this be? It lasted under 24 hrs & I took Benadryl....cleared by the next late morning.

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of allergic reaction to some medications taken, food taken or pollutants. You are advised to take medicines, food or apply body/ beauty products only after sensitivity testing. Stay away from dust, dander, poison ivy, smoke, pollution, paint, etc. Avoid wearing jewelry that is made of Nickel as it causes red, bumpy, scaly, itchy or swelling at the site of contact that can slowly spread to different areas of the body.

You are advised to take antihistamine, at bedtime for relieve. Do not touch or scratch as it will leave dark spots on the skin. You are advised to get clinically examined by an Allergist so that the cause can be diagnosed, and symptoms managed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
