What Should I Do About The Skin Peeling And Burning Sensation From Azithromycin And Deriva-C For My Acne Treatment?

Hi I have severe acne on chest and cheeks due to puberty. I would describe them as small small pimples with hard solid pimple pus. The pimples are on the upper part of the chest and on shoulder, and on face chin and the cheeks and some on the forehead. my dermatologist prescribed azithromycin 500mg( twice a week ) and Deriva-C( every night before sleep ) for 2 months this medications are peeling the skin on my face and chest and i have a burning sensation when i touch the affected skin. what should i do..? Thanks

Hello,

Skin peeling could be due to Deriva C, which is seen in many individuals after using it, which is normal. For the time being, until it resolves, stop using Deriva C. Use a moisturizer in the night (physiogel AI moisturizer cream) Once the peeling resolves, apply Deriva C for short contact of 15 minutes on pimples and wash. Later on apply the moisturizer.
