What Should I Do When The Blood Supply To The Fetus Is Less Apart From The Fetus Not Growing?

Hi I am 6 weeks pregnant, my doctor told me that my baby is not growing.. She did my 1st ultrasound on 20th July, 2023 where GS size is 6.1mm and 2nd ultrasound on 27th july where GS size is 11.3 mm. She told me upon my 2nd ultrasound that baby is not growing and blood supply is not adequate toward the baby. What should I do? I m eating Folic acid and duphaston in medication.

Hello,

The ultrasound description that you have provided is not adequate to conclude that your pregnancy is not growing. Gestational sac grows by around 1.1mm every day from 5th week. As per the 2nd scan, the size of gestational sac is normal. But by 6th week a structure called yolk sac has to be seen in the scan.

If that has appeared then your pregnancy is probably growing. If not you need to do a repeat scan after 10 days to confirm viable pregnancy. To help support the pregnancy you can continue folic acid and Duphaston. You can also take prenatal capsules daily. Eat healthy and stay stress free and happy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
