What Should Be Done After Getting Stung By Wasps?

just got stung several times by wasps. (or hornet; don't know which but they were yellow and black and not deterred by me swatting them off...or trying to...they clung to my clothing!) took 50 mgs of benadryl right away because I do not know if I am allergic to wasp stings. (My daughter had a bee sting allergy when young but seemed to 'grow out" of it.)
Not sure if there is anything else I should do. What would you recommend? thx

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Most insect bites and stings will heal on their own without a visit to a doctor. As you have taken benedryl which is good, you can do following things too.

1.Apply an ice pack to a bite or sting for 15 to 20 minutes once an hour for the first 6 hours. When not using ice, keep a cool, wet cloth on the bite or sting for up to 6 hours. Always keep a cloth between your skin and the ice pack. Do not apply ice for longer than 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
2.Elevate the area of the bite or sting to decrease swelling.
3. Use non steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen/ Acetaminophen, they will reduce pain & swelling.

If problem persist visit nearby doctor

Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved.
