What Should Be Done After Missed Dose Of Oxetol?

R/Doctor, Sir, My child 07 years old is under treatment of neurocysticercosis since last two and half month, omnacortil and albandazol course has been completed and oxetol 300mg (b.d.) is continue. Due to some confusion I have just missed his one doze in the morning of yesterday. I am worried as my doctor suggest specially that in no condition this medicine should not be missed. I will be highly oblige if you suggest the result of mistake taken place. Pl. reply sir.

Hello,
I can understand your concern.
Oxetol tablet which your son has been advised is to prevent any seizures due to neurocysticercosis.
The definite treatment for nejrocysticercosis is aldendazole which your son has already completed the course. I advise you to give the missed dose as soon as possible, if this is near the next scheduled dose, donot double the dose and continue the course as per the schedule.
You need not worry about the skipped dose.
But do be careful from this time so that your son doesnt miss a dose.
