What Should Be Done For Swelling In Neck And Liquid Bubbles Of Fetus In Scan Report?

My wife is 17 wekks pregnant. Yesterday usg was carried out by radiologist. He told us that there are severe complications with the foetus. Swelling in neck and liquid bubbles were seen in head. We are in tension. Please tell me what are the reasons ,remedies,cure of this. What are checks to be done. Other reports are normal.plese help us and advice.

Hello sir and welcome.

I would advise a quad marker test immediately and repeat ultrasound scans at regular intervals to find the accurate cause for the presentation. In most countries, medical termination of pregnancy is an option when there are severe complications diagnosed in the fetus but only till the 20th week of gestation. I hope it does not come to that and do not support abortion either, but it is my duty to let you know about your options.
