I have a patient where i can not get a blood pressure I used manual and Automatic BP machines the 12 lead ECG showed in lead 1 that the patient has a T wave spiked .However the patient is talking and shows no clinical symptoms that he is having a MI The patient is 41 years old and of Idian origin
Thanks for your question on HCM. I need to know few things. Is there any other ecg abnormality? T wave spiked in only V1? Is your patient alcoholic? Have you checked potassium levels. Spiked T wave in single lead carries no significance. So no need to worry if it is in V1 only. Common causes for tall T wave are hyperkakemia ( high potassium) due any cause like hemolysis, renal failure, rhabdomyolysis etc, alcoholics etc. So check potassium level 1st. If normal than no need to worry.
