What Should Be Done If Few Lices Are Left After All Kinds Of Treatment?

My son and I have had lice, and I have done treatments, and sprays for all clothing, bedding, furniture, ect..as well as the head treatment shampoo, gel and comb. I have also purchased the special lice detector, that is suppose to hum, untill one is detected and then, zaps them! Still though it s been three days, and my head feels itchy still, and i keep checking and using the zap dectector . Is there something else i should be doing, using, or looking for that i mighta missed?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
You have mentioned in your history that you have been doing various modes of treatment since last three days.
In case of lice infestation, you must remember that there will be nits ( eggs of adult lice) stuck to your hair and these will hatch only after 10 days. Also, the products of lice can remain in your scalp and continue to cause itching for a few days.
Hence, use 1% permethrin cream rinse once a week for at least 2-3 months till all the nits are totally removed from the scalp and hair. You could take an antihistamine like benadryl for 3-5 days yo get rid of itching. You are considered non infective when the nits are at least 1 inch away from your scalp. ( they will just be the remnants and not active).
Hope this helps you.
Take care.
