What Should Be Done To Reduce Pain Caused By Dry Coughing?

hi there I had a appendectomy 6 days ago all went routine altho I still have slightly raised blood pressure still the last 3 days I have developed a horrid dry cough which is now beginning to hurt my sight of surgery is this normal or is there anything I can do to ease the pain?

Hi. Appendectomy has no direct relation to the cough. Was it done under general anesthesia or under spinal anesthesia? You can try cough suppressants which do not contain codeine or constipating factors. Steam inhalations and soothing warm liquids under your Doctors instructions will help you ease with the cough. Were you a smoker ? Is there fever or any other symptoms ? Feel free to write back if you have further queries.
