What Should Be Done To Taper Calcium Channel Blocker Taken For SVT To Avoid Breast Cancer?

I am afraid to keep taking calcium channel blocker for my SVT - I ve been on them for over 25 years and I heard about the increased chance of breast cancer from them. How do I taper the ER version, my doctor told me to take one every other day and now take 2 atenolol instead of one. Is that Okay?
