What Should Be The Heart Rate In Person With High BP And Pacemaker In Heart?

Hi would you please tell me how high my hearth rate should be i have high blood presure sometimes my hearth rate is 100/8my doc said it is ok i dont think so i have a pacemaker it was put in because of side efect of meds told them the tab did not agree with me i was on it for 7years took bad had to have it to keep me alive that night i was bad i am discharged from cardio my hearth is doing the work thank god would the pacemaker be bringing up the hearth rate i am71years old thank you

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, pacemakers are set to kick in on a set minimum heart rate mostly between between 70-80 and if heart is pacing at its own, pacemaker doesn't pace, naturally. Serum electrolytes and TSH levels may be done to look for any metabolic cause.
