Hi, I am 27 years old male , i have been have throat infection for about 6 days , i also have fever and my head aches due to cold , i recently had a blood test done and found my WBC as 11100 and ESR=15 all the others are normal . I am on antibiotics ....Is the WBC normal ??
Hello,
The WBC count that you have mentioned is absolutely normal in your condition. Generally in normal people the WBC count ranges from 6000 - 10000. But since you have an infection, the WBC count can rise upto 15000. This is because WBCs are the cells of the body that fight against the infection. A course of antibiotics should be all that you need.
All the best.
