What Should Be The Normal Range Of Cholesterol Levels?

Hi, I have a question regarding my recent check up, and my age is 44 years. Total Cholesterol = 206 mg/dl HDL Cholesterol = 37 mg/dl Triglycerides = 172 mg/dl, LDL Cholesterol = 135 mg/dl CHOL/HDLC RATIO = 5.6 (Calc) NON HDL Cholesterol = 169 mg/dl Please suggest how I can keep the above in control & is there any threat to my health ?

Hi, dear.
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your cholesterol levels are slightly abnormal. Your HDL cholesterol is slightly low and others are high. So it is a risk factor for coronary heart disease.
You should take low fat diet with high amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
you can take drug like atorvastatin or pravastatin to control your cholesterol level. But it is prescription based medicine so consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
