Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post are attributed to Upper Respiratory tract infection.
As your throat is congested & tongue is hurting, your taste buds are not able to function properly & you are not able to appreciate the taste of food.
Since your treating Doctor has started you on antibiotics (Amoxicillin), it will take care of the infection & you will be fine soon. Kindly take the medications as advised.

Additional management will involve:
1. Warm saline water gargle.
2. Maintain good oral hygiene.
3. Steam inhalation.
4. Antihistamine preparations can be used to provide symptomatic relief.
5. Maintain adequate hydration & a healthy balance diet.
6. Also make sure that you are well protected from cold, dust & other allergens.

Your symptoms will be relieved with this.
Wish you good health & a speedy recovery.
Take care.
