What Should I Do For A Throbbing Vein In Neck?

Hello. Last night and today, I am feeling this throbbing vein or something in the front right area of my neck. It is not constant, but i feel something odd that I never felt before. I have not been under and extreme stress, but now I am starting to worry about arteries etc. It sort of feels like when you have a muscle spasm, but it is in the front of the neck. I am a diabetic, and take my meds and am in overall good health. Heart issues run in my family. Should I see my Dr? If so, what will be the next steps to determine the issue? Many Thanks
