What Should I Do If Bitten By A Dog?

I was bitten by a dog over a week ago, one of the canine teeth punctured my left leg on the outside right into the muscle. I ve been on antibiotics, but I have a very hard lump about 2 inches by 1 inch under the area where I was bitten. I wonder if it s scar tissue or something brewing.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

I am so sorry to hear about your problem.

First of all, I'd strongly advice you to immediately visit a doctor and get anti-rabies injections.

I hope you had properly washed the site where he had bitten you.

The hard lump you are feeling must be fue to collagen deposition and fibrosis (scar).

Again, I'd like to remind you about taking anti-rabies vaccination.

If you are in pain, make use of pain killers like Diclofenac.

Hope this information helps.
Wishing you good health.

With warm regards,
Dr. Sridhar Reddy
