What Side Effects Do Diabetes Medication Have?

I am diabetic on 30-40units 4x a day and have gained over 50 pounds. I am getting very concerned about the effects of my blood sugars on the rest of my health. I am also 10 years post liver transplant (doing well) and immunosuppressed. What history has this drug have and what side effects would I be looking at?

Dear sir I understand your concern.. I am very happy you are this conscientious because having a well controlled blood sugar is very important in preventing the onset of diabetic complications.i guess you are on insulin.insulin do not have any side effects but if not taken along with proper diet it may cause low sugars.the next common problem with insulin is weight gain.but it can be kept in check by doing daily exercise....regards
I suppose I have given the desired response if you have any other query please write back.

Best Regards.
