Hello. My son 22 yrs. old is struggling for last year. Thinks he has ADD or something the like. I really thought I could ignore it until maybe he worked it out . He is nervous, at times, has suffered migraines for years. I am so afraid to open that door, If he is medicated I am very scared it couild be addictive. He has tried noise machines to relax. Vitamin B supplements. Can you tell me if there are obvious signs . He is struggling an I am frustrated I am not helping quickly enough.
1. Signs of ADD are mainly related with attention, decreased concentration and forgetfulness which can be managed with medicine but there will be minimal effect on the Senses which are aggravated with slightest of stimulus.
2. In Ayurveda we hold VATA responsible for the said disease (hyperactivity) and since disease is of mind (where senses are located) thus initially proper eating and sleeping pattern should be advocated and refrain from stimulants like caffeine, spices and self assessment is important.
3. Give 'mans mitra vatka' at bed time to calm the mind.
4. You can contact me directly on: bit.ly/drmunishsood for further in depth analysis and management.
