What Syrup Can Be Taken For A Choking Cough With Mucus?

I had egd done on Thursday an was told i have a gastric ulcer an I have been taking 40 mgs daily of Prilosec for one week. I have a gagging/choking cough with thick clear mucus making me feel terrible. What cough syrup can I take? Can I change to nexium also?

Hi, thanks for your query.
Your cough is because of the gastric reflux.
No cough syrup will help you. Once the gastric reflux reduces, cough reduces.
Yes you can take nexium. Any prokinetcs drug along with proton pump inhibitors will help. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
