What Tests Are Needed During Initial Pregnancy Stages?

I am pregnate. this is my frist pregnacy, and everyone is telling me what to expect. My OB hasnt done anything they were telling me that she should. She hasnt checked my blood for sugar, or mesaured my belly. She has problems with the unlta sound, but she says everything is healthy. Should i be concerned or even switch to a new doctor?

Hi there, I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) Congratulations for your new journey of motherhood.

3 ) If I was your treating doctor, I will suggest you to get following -

A. USG to find out exact gestational age of the pregnancy and viability.

B. Complete blood count, urine routine examination, TSH, blood sugar levels, fasting and post lunch. Serological tests for HIV and Hepatitis B.

4 ) Please opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Include more portions of fruits, salads and vegetables in daily diet. Drink plenty of water in the day. Avoid deep fried foods, bakery products and refined sugars. Avoid substance abuse of if any.

Start on Folic acid, Vitamin B 12 and Omega 3 supplements on daily basis. This will help to prevent various complications during the pregnancy .
