What To Do For Abscess On The Stomach Which Is Hard Inside?

I got an abscess on my stomach and it finally ruptured and drained. The swelling went down on the outside but I can still feel a golf ball sized hardness inside. I ve been trying to drain it more, keep it clean, and I ve been putting neosporin on it and covering with gauze to catch drainage. Is there anything else I can do?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

As per your case history of Abscess, my treatment advice is:

1. Do not squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen for pain and swelling.
4. Only curative treatment is excision under local anesthesia done by a dermato-surgeon.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
