What To Do For Cystic Bronchiectasis With Lrti?

I just wanted to enquire. My Elder sister,age - 52 yrs,wieght - 68 kg is suffering from "CYSTIC BRONCHIECTASIS WITH LRTI" . She has got admitted almost twice now for the same.Can you suggest any particular medicine or treatment which could help her to reduce the infection she gets affected to. Thanks, RN

Let me explain about bronchiectasis , so that you can understand something.
Bronchiectasis is defined as localized irreversible dilatation of the bronchi ( IRREVERSIBLE , please keep this thing in mind).This results in airflow obstruction & impaired clearance of secretions.
Cystic bronchiectasis occurs secondary to mucuos plugged proximal airways & chronic respiratory infection.
Actually cystic fibrosis is the main disease and bronchiectasis is the major pulmonary finding of this disease.
Mind it that the main disease is cystic fibrosis , while bronchiectsis is the main complication of this disease.
Dosage of antibiotics are.
Antibacterial combination 1 Co-trimoxazole .
2 Cephalosporins ( 2nd generations ) .
cefaclorn 1gm /day.
cefotaxim200-400 mg orally thrice in day.
cefuroxime 500 mg orally .
3 Penicillins , quinolones
Beside antibiotics other treatment is ,
ambroxol, bromhexine, carbocysterine, anti oxidant, bronchial cleanser.
