What To Do For Inflamed Retina After Cataract Surgery?

My 42 year old brother had cataract surgery for both eyes. Right eye first did fine. Left eye had issues. Now 2 week followup he has inflamed retina. How serious is this? He is
Blowing it off. He has doctor friends who have told him just do the drops and wait. Do nothing else. I'm terrier for him. Help??

Post operative he has to use steroid eye drop for few days. He should go for post operative check up and follow up.
