What To Do For Iron Intake During 29 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi,

I'm 29 weeks pregnant, have a hemoglobin of 9.7 and iron level of 29. I have never been able to tolerate iron supplements. I don't know what to do.Oral supplements make me throw up so I can't take iron in apill form. I tried getting more iron through my diet but that's notworking either. What can I do and should I be really worried about my lab values?

Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion iron intolerance is seen in many people.
You are in mild anaemia range ie.,( 8 to 10 g m/dl).you dont worry continue with iron supplements as you are at 29 wks now.
But get Hb done after 15 days .lf then Hb is same or falling we can go for parenteral iron preparations. So relax nothing to worry there is not the only oral iron but there are parenteral preparations especially for iron intolerance people....
