What To Do For Irregular Periods?

Hello, I have a question about my period. I m 21 years old, I just had it 2 weeks ago but yesterday it started again. It has been a little irregular lately so I wasn t surprised. But this time the blood was really dark red and thin, not thick like usual. Is there any conditions that this might fit symptoms of?

Hi,

Hormonal imbalance is the main cause of irregular periods. Ovarian cyst, thyroid dysfunction and nutritional deficiencies like anemia should be ruled out. I would suggest you to visit your gynaecologist and also to take pelvic ultrasound, thyroid tests and complete blood count to identify the cause of irregular periods.Any bleeding abnormalities should be ruled out by testing bleeding time, clotting time and prothrombin time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
