What To Do For My Cough?

About a month ago i started having a really bad cough. I figured it was the start of a cold. However the only symptom i had was extremely excessive coughing. It gets so bad sometimes that i cant breath to well or i throw up from coughing to much. The coughing has reduced, although i still do have coughing fits sometime, but not as much as i used to. The symptoms that i have now are Runny nose, And some coughing fits.I also have tons of mucus, I wake up with a stuffy nose. I have to constantly be hacking up mucus, i can feel it in my throat. I did go to the doctor the first week, He said it was just a cold and recommended Robitussin. The medications i have been taking are just pain relievers, they are the only things that help my cough. Tramadol 50mg, and i was taking Ambroxol 10mg? i believe. Please help me out id really appreciated it.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
To start with it is a cold, it would have developed into a throat infection, and a super infection with the bacteria. There could be a condition eosinofelia.
I advise you to consult a physician for diagnosis and treatment.
You may need to have X ray, blood tests and sputum for A.F.B. to exclude tuberculosis.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime, phenylefrine ,citrizine, theophyline, diethylcarbamazine citrate.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
