Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern. A lot of individuals with history of drug abuse show many somatic symptoms after quitting the drug. He is having pains in multiple body sites, feeling of sickness, or like lifeless. Sych type of symptoms even persist for months to years after detox treatment.

Opioid withdrawal is specifically associated with such symptoms. Individuals may show pain in legs, diarrhoea, restlessness, insomnia, craving etc symptoms. He was taking methadon and the drug is an opioid. In such protracted withdrawal symptoms medicines like Pregabalin, Gabapentin or Baclofen etc can help. These medicines not only relieve pain but also reduce craving and restlessness. Please discuss with his psychiatrist for detailed prescription.

Thanks, hope this helps you
