What To Do For The High Values Of SGPT And Uric Acid?
Hi, Doc, good evening . I am in the Phil. right now and I have just gotten the result of my blood test this morning and unfortunately, my SGPT is more than twice the normal reading, and also my uric acid test result is twice the normal reading too. The rest of my blood chem is normal. Am I in a very risky situation right now?
Hello, Increased SGPT level related to many conditions like consumption of huge amount of alcohol for prolonged period, high fatty meal, conditions related to liver diseases like viral or autoimmune hepatitis, fatty liver, gall bladder inflammation etc. So to confirm some test should be done like- serum total cholesterol, serum triglyceride level, SGOT, serum albumin, serum A/G level, prothrombin time, alkaline phosphatase level. As far as increased uric acid level is related to some hereditary conditions, high intake of dietary purine and sugar, dysfunction of kidney, rapid weight loss. So, avoid intake of alcohol, much of sugar and fatty food, take fresh & huge amount of fruit & vegetables. Consult a physician and follow the instruction. Take care bye.
