What To Do For The Injury In The Hymen Due To A Fall?
This is embarrassing....but I went to sit on floor with my baby twins and when I plopped down with some force I landed on a hard plastic toy in my genital area. I have bleeding and from what I can see there is injury to hymen and a cut beside it. Should I be worried??
I can understand your situation. As the hymen area is very sensitive and have a lot of blood vessels, even small injuries are associated with a lot of bleeding. I would advise you to keep a sterile cotton pad or gauze pad at the area with pressure till the bleeding stops.
After the bleeding stops, you apply cold compresses to the area to prevent swelling.
If there is no other discomfort, you do not need to worry about anything except keeping the area clean to prevent infections. Wash the area whenever possible and you can also use Silz baths. If it is hurting you a lot, you can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg.
However, if you develop fever, extreme swelling in the area or recurrent bleeding from the cut, you should visit a doctor for physical examination of the injury.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you recover soon!
