What To Do For The Painful Bump Behind The Ear?

Yesterday I got bit by some bug, and now I have a huge welt where it bit. I started getting a headache shortly after, and now I noticed a painful bump behind my right ear. I know lymph nodes can swell because of allergic reactions, so I m wondering what I should do? I have asthma, so I m just worried that if I m allergically reacting to a bug bite, my throat could also be affected. Thanks for any help you can give.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history, you are having a furuncle, my treatment advice is –

1. Don't squeeze the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an NSAID (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like Ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Cefadroxil, and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
