What To Do For The Swelling And Bruises Due To A Fall?

I am 46 years and I am female, I fell down a flight of stairs in my basement exactly on the buttox. Going down them one a time very fast one at a time 5 of them.. I have exactly 4 different bruises they our green and very tender to touch. I hurt it 48 hours ago and it swelled up so bad like I had another butt check... The swelling has went down about 60 percent but still very tender and painful when sitting down.. Should I keep icing out? Also I have been in crossfit for 2 years where I go like 4times a week should I stop going?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is quite common after a blunt trauma. These are nothing but a collection of blood underneath the skin. Nothing much to worry and these will settle by itself. You can apply ice packs for faster recovery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
