Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Generally, in response to emergency contraceptive pills like the I pill, most women experience some kind of a withdrawal bleeding.
So what you experienced for just 4 days was most probably withdrawal bleeding.
ANd what you experienced then afterwards would be your normal period.
The I pill can also prepone or postpone your expected menstrual cycle by upto a week or more, sometimes , upto 10 days.
So the abnormal period could be due to that.
however, it should not be lasting for 13 days.
Please take a pregnancy test to rule out the possibility of a miscarriage.
Other than that, sometimes stress ,anxiety, thyroid hormone disturbances, polycystic ovaries etc can also cause such abnormal bleeding.
Please have a gynecological evaluation.
That would include pelvic ultrasound scan and hormonal estimations - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone etc.
Maintain ideal BMI
Avoid taking ECP casually as it will alter your normal menstrual cycle.
ALl the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
