What To Do If Having Persistent Cough, Tightness In Upper Throat?

I was intubated for 4 days last July due asthma, pneumonia. I have this cough and mucus 24/7. I went to the ENT and my vocal cord are normal. I feel a tightness in the upper throat following with cough and vomiting. I went to the speech therapist and the exercise haven't help. Help me! Beth Tripp

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding persistent cough and tightness in upper throat, all these develop after intubation for 4 days to face respiratory emergency created by asthma and pneumonia.

Here I would like to say that after intubation for respiratory assistance this is a common complication and since you are already having asthma so this situation is most likely.

I would like to suggest you for handling this situation need not to worry you please contineu your treatment and only add steroid and steam inhalation for few days.

Regards.
