What To Do You Suggest If Lost Voice After Clearing Strep?
a couple of years ago maybe 3 or 4 I caught strep through after it was cleared my voice was lost I saw three specialist they did not find nothing my voice has been in and out they tell me I have to take speaking lessons what is it . Do you have any suggestions.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history of strep throat 3-4 years ago which got cleared but thee was loss of voice. You have already met 3 Specialists but was told to take speaking lessons. Your mentioning the report of the Laryngoscopy is very important. If not yet done I would advise you the following: Consult a Laryngologist, he is an ENT Surgeon well trained and experienced in the speech related problems. He shall do the clinical evaluation, get the Laryngoscopy done to see the problem related to the vocal cords and treat you accordingly. It is possible that you have problem related to hormonal changes along with the age and this needs voice training. This is called puberphonia and can now be treated by surgical correction.
