What Treatment Is Recommended For This Result From MRI?

Hi I have had an MRI scan which reveals a small subchronical non displaced insuffieciency fracture of the medial femoral condyle with bone marrow oedema also small knee joint effusion with synovial hyper trophy and grade 1 MCL strain.What is the likely therapy for this injury as I am awaiting a specialist appointment please?

Hi,

Since knee joint is weight bearing joint and femur being part of it, would need a surgical correction in terms of a screw fixation. The MCL strain may heal on its own and would not need any correction. The fracture may take 6 to 8 weeks to heal however it may take longer in old patients.
