What Treatment To Be Taken For Small Oval Radio Calcific Density Seen On X Ray?
Hi ! Im 27 yrs old, female. Last 2006, I was diagnosed with minimal ptb and was cured after the six month treatment. Last year, I was surprised that my x-ray showed normal chest result. I get the same result last january 2013. but for the last two weeks i had a severe cough and frequent back pain particularly on the right side. so i decided to have another x ray and the result says a small oval radiocalcific density is seen at the right apex. Impression: Right apical opacity likely calcification. Do i have tb again? do i need to undergo the treatment again? what can i do with the pain? thank you so much,.
A calcific density most likely refers to a healed TB area and not necessarily new TB. I strongly suggest you get your new X ray compared with the one done in 2013. If you still have cough, a CT scan chest may be necessary. Before starting any medications you must consult a pulmonologist and get required blood and imaging tests done in detail.
