What Treatment To Be Taken For The Colour And Mucus In Stool?
Hi Dr. Santosh, My 2.5 yrs old daughter is passing green color stool with mucus frequently (6-7 times), I visited local pediatric, and he recommended for stool test, which says pus cells 3-4, what does that mean? can you help me understand, she was suffering from two days before and was taking antibiotics and paracetamol syrup.
Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. Antibiotics itself can cause loose stools. The stool examination you have got done says 3-4 pus cells, that can be a sign of infection or can be due to contamination. If still febrile, requires antibiotics for infection. Also, she should take a Probiotic. This is my best opinion for you based on available details. If you any have further query, please ask me. Stay Healthy Dr Anshul Varshney, MD
