What Type Of A Diet Plan Is Suggested For Chicken Pox To A Child?

Hello doctor. My son has chicken pox with a very mild outbreak. However when he ate strawberries, cherries and pears, he had big patches on his skin (one or two) which faded later on. I am avoiding spices and peppers in his meals and giving him yogurt with plain rice. My question is can I give him eggs and pasta with tomato sauce?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The patches are part of the disease process and have got no relation to the food.

Ask him to drink plenty of water and include more fruits and vegetables to the diet.

You can give him egg and pasta, however, if he feels nauseated, you can in small amount in frequent intervals.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
