What Type Of Post Treatment Is Recommended For Carpel Tunnel Surgery?

I just had carpal tunnel surgery last Friday on June 4th. I m a fairly serious bike rider and am scheduled to take an expensive bike riding trip to France on Jul 9th. We both felt the timing of this was right. However Im not sure what kind of therapy I should be doing now and once the gauze snd stitches are removed on June 23rd. There was discussion about using a therapy/squeeze ball. I would like to be doing more now as Im afraid Im going to be really stiff by the time I m seen. Any suggestions of therapy.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Bike riding means continuous strain on the wrists and as such on the whole body. First of all come out of the present problems of post-surgical period and see how the wound has healed.
- Also, see how much has this helped to alleviate your symptoms
- I do not hope to see you riding bike for so long at the moment
- You can plan next year
- Best is to get complete recovery form the existing problems

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
