What Type Of Treatment Is Recommended For This Colonoscopy Test Result?
Sir/Madam, I was having stomach ache and coming with frequent stools on 9/9/16. The stomach ache continues and again on 19/9/16 I had vomiting several times. I consult with doctor and asks for CBC,ESR,LFT/Alb along with ultrasound and colonoscopy. In colonoscopy he observed multiple erosions in ileum...and taken 2 samples for biopsy, 1 for crohn s disease and other for tuberculosis. No biopsy reports has come till date, but he ask to start d treatment for tuberculosis as he had some telephonic conversation with lab. He is saying to there will be 2 years treatment for this.m bit confuse abt duration of therapy and should I start d treatment, before seeing reports.
As the biopsy report is positive for tuberculosis, We have to start on tuberculosis treatment. Nothing much to worry and your treatment is in the right track.
Frequently follows up and repeat scope is required. Generally, long term treatment is required for full remission.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
