What Will Happen If Mantoux Test Is More Than 20 Mm?
my mantoux test is more than 20 mm.my father is now treated as a TB patient even though the whole tests are not completed (bacteria culture will be ready in 38 days the first test was negative and PCR was positive). What will be next for me? thank you
An induration of 15 mm or more in an otherwise healthy individual is considered positive. Please remember that this test is a reaction to tuberculin and does not indicate the activity nature of TB infection. You may get the necessary other investigations done for TB screening like an IGRA may be performed. IGRA tests are relatively new and are not performed by all laboratories.
