What Would Cause Your Elbow To Itch And Swell?

My left elbow is swollen and very itchy. I thought it might be an insect bite. I used Cortisone and Benidryl for the itch which helped. Not long ago a milder itch and small amount of swelling occurred on my right elbow, but it went away in a couple of days. I am currently in Bangkok and I wonder if I got bit by something.
