Whats The Prognosis For Pneumonia With C Diff?

A friends husband is in ICU on a ventilator with pneumonia, as well as C Diff and the last antibiotic to try is being given. Cath was done on heart which showed no blockages. They are saying they are using the last heart med at their disposal to get his heart pumping over 20% which is all it is doing. Infection and pneumonia are the culprits. What is the prognosis for this. He is in an induced coma.

Thanks for your question on HCM.
In my opinion he is in septic shock. In this due to blood stream infection , toxic substances are released in the blood by bacteria and these substances cause cardiac damage and low function of heart and low Blood pressure.
The only treatment for this is to give appropriate antibiotics to stop the sepsis.
In my opinion get done 3 sets of blood culture and sensitivity and start antibiotic according to the sensitivity report.
Prognosis is obviously not good if antibiotics are not working. It indicates infection with drug resistant bacteria.
Pneumonia with septic shock with invasive ventilator support carries poor prognosis.
