When Can Relief Be Expected From Scabies Infection After Taking Permethrin Treatment And Steroid Cream?

My scabies infection seems to be lasting a while. Been 1 week since my second permethrin treatment. The itching is horrible. Some areas of my skin has bruising mostly my buttocks. Have been using steroid cream for that and taking Zyrtec but still itches a lot. When can I expect relief?

Hello,
I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.
The itching in case of scabies will be very bad and itching can persist for up to three weeks after treatment.
It does not mean treatment has failed.
If itching is becoming more intense and persisting for more than six weeks, this is suggestive of treatment failure.
Treat all contaminated clothing and bedding.
I Hope you got the answer for the query. If you have additional queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us.
Thank you
