When Cutting Sage From Garden, Hand Got Cut. Hand Swelling, Burning Skin Started To Peel Off

I am inquiring for my adult daughter in Georgia, who just called & said she was peeling squash & had cut SAGE from her garden & her hand swelled & burning skin started to peel off. Why would Sage or squash cause for the 1st time such a reaction. I think it was the 1st time she cut the Sage which she bought as organic Sage.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
I am suspecting an allergic reaction in your daughter which could have occurred due to exposure to any chemical substances like pesticides, or fertilizers used in the garden.
I suggest you tell her to avoid contact with those chemical substances and let her take Tab Atarax 25 mg thrice daily for two days. Application of calamine lotion over the inflamed skin will reduce the burning sensation.
If it does not reduce then she has to get the hand examined and get appropriate therapy.

Thanks.
