When Do Periods Begin After Taking Postinor 2?

Hi, I took postinor 2 on the 1st of July less than 2 hours after sex. After taking the first pill, I took the second 2 hours later which is much earlier than instructed. At the moment I have still not received my period. Will the pill still be in effect?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Postinor 2 is an emmergency contraceptive. There is minimal withdrawal bleeding after 8 days of intake. Bur routine period is delayed by 8-10 days.
Absence of period after the time indicates-pregnancy earlier than the sex discussed in the query / some other cause for delay in period (horminal imbalance... uterine fibroid...severe anemia or severe illness .) You need to consult a gynecologist &get investigations advused done... to pin point the cause & start needful treatment. (In case it'spregnancy... it needs to be terminated ... as Postunor is likely to cause congenital malformations in baby )
Thanks.
