When Do Periods Begin After Taking Provera?

Hi. I went to a doctor 2 weeks ago because i haven t had my period for 2 months now. He put me on provera and I had my last one 3 days ago. I had my insomnia while on provera up to now. Im also depressed while waiting my period. When will my period come? My doctor said I shiuld come back 5 days after my period for transvaginal ultrasound. I have dry mucus also. Is there any effect on my vaginal discharge while on provera? I hope you ll give me an enlightenment. Thank you and Godbless.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
After taking prescribed medication like Provera, you need to get your periods by 5 to 10 days after the last dose.
If your periods are delayed beyond 10 days, you need to be evaluated for its cause.
Hence, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
