When Does Bleeding During Periods In Perimenopause Stage Stop?

55 years of age in perimenopause, started period almost 5 weeks ago after skipping a few months. No cramps light flow at first now increased flow with clotting . When will this stop? No history of anything heath issue except hypothyroidism. Thank you. Rene.....

Hello Rene,

I can understand your concern. Menstrual irregularities are very common in the perimenopausal women due to hormonal imbalance.

As your bleeding is incteasing with increasing intensity of pain, I would advise you to visit a gynecologist and go for blood tests for hormonal levels. Based in the results, hormone replacement therapy can be started. You might also need to take iron supplements and tranexamic acid tablets.
