When Driving Felt Pressure In My Head. Ears Blocked. Took Afrin. Have Yellowish Water Coming From Nose. Suggestions?

Hi, I just came back from Cancun where I went diving for the first time. I had much dificulty equalizing and had pressure in my head throughout the dive. When I came up, my ears where blocked and felt like there was water lodged inside. I have had an intermittent headache since (4 days ago) and took afrin the same evening I came back from the dive. I now have orangeish yellow water coming from my left nostril. Any ideas what it may be? William

Hi and thanks for the query,
From your symptoms it looks like you have acute rhinosinusitis(infection of the sinuses and the nose)
If symptoms have persisted for more than 5 days you will probably require a course of antibiotic and decongestant nose drops.
See a doctor soon.
Till then please follow some general measures.
1) Steam inhalation 5 times per day.
2) Plenty of fluids 4 litres per day.
3) Avoid airconditioning and fan.
Take care,
Regards Dr Rajkishori Godhi.
